A newly published study highlights the impact of the ThrYve (Together Reducing Youth Violence) initiative in Wyandotte County. Researchers found a 42.3% reduction in youth homicide rates within the area served by the initiative, along with improvements in family support, positive peer connections, and other key factors associated with youth well-being.
These outcomes reflect the collective efforts of youth, families, community partners, and coalition members who have worked together to create safer, more supportive environments where young people can thrive. From 2018 to 2024, ThrYve partners implemented 243 community changes to expand opportunities and strengthen supports for youth.
